Then we looked out the window and realized we had SNOW last night. Yes, the entire ground is covered in about one inch of snow (now starting to melt though). Of course snow is quite rare in this area so this is a big deal. Ellie ran into her room (still dark) and started to seek out her snow boots.
Jenna woke up in the commotion and it was getting lighter in the house as day opened up. After lighting the fire in the living room, the power came back on. This is basically a miracle since PG&E usually takes hours or days to get the power back on in our area.
After getting dressed in warm clothes, we took a tour of our snow-covered property. We walked through the snow, rolled snow balls and even made a small snow man. Here is what the scene looks like here (click to make it bigger):
Both kids loved playing outside in the snow and hopefully they built some memories because this isn't likely to happen again any time soon (my last snow memory in the Bay Area is about 12 years old).
